A couple of “Phonopore” phones:

At the left, marked “Phonopore Construction Co. Ltd. Southall, England Serial No. 2319”.

At the right, marked “Sterling Type A Phonopore serial No. 1049”.

Please note the dual headpieces and absence of a hand crank, as a “buzzer” was used to call the attention at the remote end, without interfering with the telegraph signalling.

Both phones used by The Western Telegraph Co. Ltd. in its Montevideo-Colonia landlines.
