INSULATORS

This collection initially included all kinds of insulators, found or not in Uruguay.
I then changed my approach and focused only on those insulators found in Uruguay, either locally made or foreign. The insulators shown are of the type used by the Telégrafo Nacional and railways telegraph lines.
The latter were a very interesting source since the railway service was started and run in Uruguay from the late part of the 19th. Century up to the mid 20th. Century by British companies. It is not surprising then, to find many British made insulators in my collection.

Since I have quite a few insulators and in order not to bore the viewer I have decided to show only some of them, in some cases in groups, and mention those that have a particular characteristic. A very interesting collection of English insulators can be found at www.teleramics.com
