Sample of a German telegraph cable manufactured by Felten & Guilleaume Carlswerk AG Leipzig-Halle Kabel . Believed dated around 1877.It consists of four separate cores with gutapercha insulation, the absence of jute outer serving would indicate that this cable was not  meant for submarine use .The letter “C” instead of “K” was used in Germany between 1857 and 1919Many thanks to Mr. Peer Brinkmann who kindly supplied this information.
